A tableau vivant, is the French decription word for a living picture!
(French: tablo vivɑ̃)
This is a static scene containing one or more actors or models. They are stationary and silent, usually in costume, carefully posed, with props and/or scenery, and may be theatrically lit. It thus combines aspects of theatre and the visual arts.
The picture is usually a re:construction of an original photo in real life, with that original photo being created within it.
One of our creative fellow Stalker's noticed our love of Trolls, (who you may have seen dotted about the House, usually in a mischievios fashion), and brought in their troll inpsired Tableau for us to see -
How clever is this? 🤩
A Tableau is used to describe a painting or photograph in which characters are arranged for picturesque or dramatic effect and appear absorbed and completely unaware of the existence of the viewer.
They tend to contain 4 elements to be a Tableau -
• Focus – each member of the group should be focused on the moment. ...
• Expectation – the audience should want to know what is going to happen next. ...
• Levels – levels will help establish power in a scene. ...
• Expression – use every part of the body to create the mood for your tableau.
This idea is completely new to us and we love to learn of new things.
Have you heard of a tableau before? Have you ever made one, or perhaps been a part of one? 👀
